Measurement guide

Eight measurements, one soft tape

Measure over a thin T-shirt, keep the tape flat and snug but not tight, and write each number down twice. Ask someone to help with shoulders and sleeves.

Where to measure the collar

1

Collar

Around the base of the neck where the collar sits. Add one finger for comfort.

Where to measure the chest

2

Chest

Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, tape level at the back.

Where to measure the waist

3

Waist

Around the narrowest part of the stomach, usually at the navel.

Where to measure the seat

4

Seat

Around the fullest part of the hips, where the shirt tail sits.

Where to measure the shoulders

5

Shoulders

Across the back, from one shoulder point to the other.

Where to measure the sleeve

6

Sleeve

From the shoulder point over a slightly bent elbow to the wrist bone.

Where to measure the wrist

7

Wrist

Around the wrist bone. Tell us if you wear a watch on that side.

Where to measure the shirt length

8

Shirt length

Down the back from the collar seam to where you want the hem.

Tip: A shirt that fits you well already? Lay it flat and measure it too, and add the numbers to your order notes.

Measurement fields on the product page need a product add-ons plugin; in this sample store we email a measurement form after you order.

FAQ

Questions before you order

Not sure about a fabric or a measurement? Email [email protected] or call (555) 014-6620.

What if I measure wrong?

We check every set of numbers against the others before cutting and email you if something looks unusual. The remake promise covers the first shirt (sample policy).

How long does a shirt take?

About three weeks from order to delivery: one week to draft and cut, one to sew and press, then shipping (sample times).

What are the fabrics made of?

Each product page lists the weave and weight. Fibre composition and care are placeholders in this sample store.

Can I order the same shirt again?

Yes. Your pattern is saved, so the next order only needs a fabric, collar and cuff.

Do you make shirts for every body?

We draft every pattern from your own numbers, in any size. Tell us about posture or anything we should know in the order notes.
