Frequently asked questions
Cannot find your answer? Call (555) 014-3360 or email [email protected].
Is this a subscription?
Plans are made to repeat, but recurring crates and payments need a WooCommerce subscriptions plugin on your store. Without one, each crate is a single order you place yourself.
Can I skip a crate or pause?
With a subscriptions plugin, yes: skip the next crate or pause your plan from your account before the cut-off. The cut-off in this demo is five days before dispatch (sample).
How do the cultures travel?
Cultures are sealed and packed with a cool pack. Put them in the fridge when the crate arrives and start them within the time on the card (sample).
Do I need special equipment?
A Small crate needs only clean glass jars. Larger crates and the gift runs include a weight, a crock or swing-top bottles.
Do you list ingredients and allergens?
Every product page lists ingredients and allergens. The notes in this demo are placeholders: milk kefir grains are kept in dairy milk, and some spice mixes contain sesame or mustard.
How long does delivery take?
Crates leave us on Mondays; tracked delivery takes 1–3 working days (sample times).
Can I return something?
Unopened gear can go back within 30 days. Cultures and kits cannot be returned once sent (sample policy).
Which payment methods do you accept?
Card payments and the wallets shown at checkout (sample). Your payment details are handled by the payment provider.
Starter troubleshooting
Is my jar doing the right thing?
The questions new members ask most. Still unsure? Send a photo of the jar to [email protected].
Placeholder
Food-safety notes on this page are sample placeholder text, not advice. Follow the guide that comes with each culture.
There is a white film on my brine. What now?
A thin, flat white film can form on vegetable ferments. Fuzzy, coloured or raised spots are a different thing: when in doubt, throw the batch out and start again (sample guidance).
My kombucha culture sank to the bottom.
That is normal: a new culture can sink, float or sit sideways. A fresh layer usually forms on the surface during the brew.
The milk kefir is thin and tastes of plain milk.
New grains often need a few feeds to settle. Keep the same milk-to-grain ratio and the same spot in the kitchen for a week.
The vegetables float above the brine.
Press them back under with the glass weight from the kit. Everything should stay below the liquid.
My kraut tastes too salty.
Taste again after a few more days. Next time, weigh the cabbage and use the salt amount from the card for that weight.
A bottle hissed loudly when I opened it.
Second-ferment bottles build up fizz. Open them over the sink, chill them first and check them every day (sample guidance).
